Creating a quest
A quest (called a campaign in the contract) is a task that many workers can complete. You set a reward per completed slot, the number of slots and how long it runs, and you deposit the rewards plus the platform fee in USDG up front.
Open Create a quest from the side menu or the Dashboard. You need a connected wallet, USDG for the deposit and a little ETH for gas.
The form
| Field | Rules |
|---|---|
| Title | Required, up to 120 characters |
| Project | Optional. One of your projects, or + New project…; see Projects and verification |
| Category | Required: DeFi, Trading, NFT, Bridge, Social, Content, Testing & feedback, or Other |
| Overview | Up to 4,000 characters |
| Links | Up to 5, https:// only, 500 characters each, separated by spaces or new lines |
| Review | I review each submission, or Verify automatically (see below) |
| Steps | 1 to 10 steps (see below) |
| Reward per slot (USDG) | More than 0, up to 6 decimals |
| Slots | 1 to 999,999 |
| Runs for (days) | 1 to 999 days, counted from the moment you submit the form |
Before you confirm, the form shows the cost: "You deposit X in rewards plus a 2% platform fee of Y. Unused rewards come back when the campaign ends; the fee does not."
Choose how submissions are reviewed
This choice is stored on-chain and cannot be changed later.
I review each submission (manual). You approve or reject each submission yourself. Steps can be anything: on-chain transactions, social actions, feedback, content. If a step has an on-chain check, the operator checks it for you and shows the result next to the submission, but you decide. If you do not answer within 7 days, the worker is paid. See Reviewing quests.
Verify automatically. Every step must be a Robinhood Chain transaction (mainnet or testnet) with an on-chain check. The work2own operator checks each submission and completes or rejects it on-chain. You do not review anything. Use this only when a transaction is enough proof that the task was done. See Automatic verification for exactly what is and is not checked.
Steps
Each step has:
- What to do: up to 120 characters, for example "Swap on the testnet DEX".
- Details (optional): up to 1,000 characters.
- Link (optional):
https://, for example to your app. - Check it on-chain: the worker sends a transaction to a contract. Always on in automatic mode. When on, fill in the rule:
| Rule field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Network | Robinhood Chain (mainnet) or Robinhood Chain testnet |
| Contract the transaction must call | The address the worker's transaction is sent to |
| Function (optional) | A signature such as swap(uint256,address) or a 4-byte selector such as 0x12345678. Leave empty to accept any function |
| Minimum ETH value in wei | The ETH the transaction must send, 0 for none |
Use ↑ Up, ↓ Down and Remove to arrange steps, and + Add a step for up to 10.
Enter the contract the wallet calls directly
The check compares the transaction's own to address and the first 4 bytes of its input. It does not look inside the transaction. If your users interact through a router, an aggregator or a smart-contract wallet, the to address or the sender may differ from what you expect. See Automatic verification.
Fund and publish
Click Fund and publish. The button walks you through:
- Sign in (free signature).
- Approve USDG: your wallet approves exactly rewards + fee for the escrow (skipped if an approval already covers it). The app checks that your wallet holds enough USDG first.
- Create the campaign: the escrow takes the rewards (reward × slots) and sends the fee to the work2own treasury.
- Publish the description: the title, overview, links, category, project and steps are saved with work2own.
You are then taken to the quest page.
- The fee is rounded down to the smallest USDG unit.
- The rewards (reward × slots) may not exceed the maximum deposit, currently 10,000 USDG per quest. The fee is on top.
- The deadline is set from your computer's clock at the moment you submit.
If the description was not saved
If step 4 fails, the quest exists on-chain but has no description. Workers cannot join it, and automatic verification cannot run. As the creator, you see a form on the quest page to Publish description with the same fields. The review mode is already fixed by the on-chain quest.
An automatic quest that never gets its steps published cannot verify anything: submissions are rejected 24 hours after they are made, so the quest can still be closed and refunded.
What you cannot change later
- The reward, slots, deadline and review mode are on-chain and fixed. There is no way to add funds, add slots or extend a quest. Create a new one instead.
- The description can be published once and cannot be edited.
- You cannot cancel a quest before its deadline. Unused rewards come back when it ends (see Reviewing quests).
- You cannot take part in your own quest.
