Doing quests

A quest is an open task with a fixed reward per completed slot. You reserve a slot, do the task within 24 hours, submit your proof, and get paid in the stock token or USDG you chose.

Find a quest

The Quests page lists every quest that is not closed and has not reached its deadline, newest first (up to 200). It refreshes every 15 seconds.

• Project strip: one button per project that has quests in the list, with its logo and quest count. Click one to see only its quests, and Project page → to open the project.
• Search: matches the quest title, the project name and the creator's name or address.
• Filters: category (DeFi, Trading, NFT, Bridge, Social, Content, Testing & feedback, Other), network (Mainnet or Testnet, taken from the quest's on-chain steps), review ("Verified on-chain" or "Reviewed by employer"), and Free slots only.
• Sort: Newest, Highest reward, Ending soon, Most free slots.

Each row shows the reward, free slots, how it is reviewed ("On-chain" or "Employer"), the time left and the state:

A reserved slot whose 24 hours ran out still counts as used until someone frees it. The operator frees expired slots automatically when a quest is otherwise full.

Read the quest

The quest page shows the reward per completed quest, free slots, the number completed, how it is reviewed, the deadline and the creator. Below that are the description, links and the Steps.

A step with an on-chain check reads like this:

[Mainnet] Send a successful transaction from your wallet to 0x1234…abcd calling function 0xa9059cbb with at least 1000 wei.

That tells you exactly which transaction counts: sent from your own wallet, to that contract, calling that function if one is named, with at least that much ETH if a minimum is set, on the named network. See Automatic verification for every rule.

If the employer has not published the description yet, the page says so and you cannot reserve a slot.

Reserve a slot

1. Connect your wallet (you cannot take part in your own quest).
2. Choose how you want to be paid: USDG or a stock token. The first time, you are asked for your country; see Getting paid.
3. Click Reserve a slot and confirm the transaction.

The payout token is fixed when you reserve. From that moment you have 24 hours, or until the quest's deadline if that comes first, to submit.

Do on-chain steps first

On-chain steps count from when the quest was created, not from when you reserve. You can do the transactions first and reserve a slot when you are ready to submit. Slots are first come, first served, so a slot may be gone by then.

One slot per wallet per quest, ever. If your reservation expires or your submission is rejected, the same wallet cannot join that quest again.

Submit your proof

Your proof is uploaded to work2own, and only its fingerprint (a hash) is written on-chain when you submit. Submitting needs a sign-in and one transaction.

For each step you fill in:

• On-chain steps: the Transaction hash of the transaction you sent (on the network shown), and an optional note.
• Other steps: What you did, in up to 1,000 characters.

Then optional Notes for the employer (up to 4,000 characters) and Links (up to 5, https:// only). Click Submit quest and confirm the transaction.

Rules checked before the upload:

• Every on-chain step needs its transaction hash (0x followed by 64 hex characters).
• Each step needs its own transaction. The same transaction cannot answer two steps.
• The proof cannot be empty.

Who can read your proof in the app: you, the employer, and work2own's operator and arbiter. It is stored on the work2own server. The fingerprint itself is public on-chain.

Older quests without steps

Quests created before steps existed ask for one proof: notes, links, and a transaction hash when the quest is verified automatically.

After you submit

Quests verified automatically

The work2own operator checks every on-chain step, usually within a minute. Your quest page shows "Verification: pass | fail | wait" with the reason, and each step shows verified, failed or checking.

• All steps pass: the operator completes the quest on-chain and your payout is created.
• A step fails: the operator rejects the submission on-chain, with a reason such as "the transaction was sent by another wallet".
• Waiting: for example, the transaction is not visible yet. The operator keeps checking; a transaction that still cannot be found 30 minutes after you submitted fails.

A transaction that is already part of another quest you completed, or that passed a step of another quest you submitted, cannot be used again. See Automatic verification.

Quests reviewed by the employer

The employer approves or rejects your submission. Rejecting is only possible within 7 days of your submission. If they do neither, the payment is released after 7 days:

• The operator releases it automatically.
• You can also click Release my payment now on the quest page once the 7 days have passed.

If the quest has on-chain steps, the operator also checks them and shows the result to you and the employer, but in this mode the employer decides.

If you are rejected

Your slot goes back to the pool for someone else, and your wallet cannot join the same quest again. Rejected quests count in your public track record.

Get paid

When the quest is completed, the escrow creates a payout for the full reward in the token you chose. Your quest page says "Completed. Track payout #N on your dashboard."

• USDG is sent right away.
• Stock tokens are swapped at a protected price, usually by the operator right after completion. If the swap cannot run safely at that moment, the payout waits and is retried.
