Roadmap
Everything on this page is planned and not built yet. Plans can change. Nothing here is a promise of a feature, a date or a token.
Verification
- Telegram and Discord tasks checked automatically (joining a group or server).
- X (Twitter) engagement tasks checked automatically, with the X API cost paid by the employer.
- Verifier voting: manually reviewed quests and disputed gigs judged by a vote of paid verifiers, instead of a single employer or the single work2own arbiter.
- A second way to verify a project's domain: a file on the project's website under
/.well-known/, next to the existing DNS record. It is on hold until it can be built with strict safeguards (HTTPS only, no redirects, size and time limits, no internal addresses).
Reputation: the work2own Passport
A soulbound (non-transferable) NFT contract, with one passport per wallet and two kinds of badges:

Planned design decisions:
- Standard: ERC-721 with ERC-5192 (Minimal Soulbound).
- Users claim their own badges with a signed permission from work2own and pay the gas themselves.
- A lost wallet: the project badge is re-issued by verifying the domain again from the new wallet. The CV moves only if the old wallet can still sign; there is no manual re-issue by an admin.
- The core CV numbers are written on-chain by the escrow when a payment completes, so nobody, including work2own, can fake them.
Also planned: two-way ratings between workers and employers, and tiers with fee discounts for employers and extra rewards for workers.
Next escrow version
- A fallback for automatic quests. Today only the operator can complete or reject a submission to an automatic quest, and there is no time limit (see Security and roles). The next escrow is planned to move such a submission to manual review if the operator has not decided within a set time: the employer may then approve or reject, and if they stay silent for the review window, anyone may release the payment to the worker.
- Writing the CV numbers to the Passport when a payment completes.
The current escrow cannot be upgraded, so these changes need a new contract.
A project token
A work2own token with utility is being considered: fee discounts, worker bonuses and staking for verifiers. There is no token today. Any token claiming to be work2own's is not, unless it is announced on x.com/getwork2own and in these docs.
