General
What do I need to start?
A browser wallet connected to Robinhood Chain and a little ETH for gas. Employers also need USDG. Signing in is a free signature and never moves funds. See Get started.
Does work2own pay my gas?
No. You pay gas for the transactions you send. The operator pays for the transactions it sends, such as automatic verification and payout retries.
Is work2own part of Robinhood?
No. work2own is an independent project, not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Robinhood Markets, Inc. Stock tokens are issued by Robinhood and subject to Robinhood's terms and eligibility rules.
Workers
Who can be paid in stock tokens?
Stock tokens are not offered to residents of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, or to connections from those countries. Workers there can still work and are paid in USDG. See Getting paid.
Do I need a profile?
For gigs, yes: employers choose by profile. For quests, no.
How long do I have to finish a quest?
24 hours from reserving a slot, or until the quest's deadline if that comes first. On-chain steps can be done before you reserve, as long as they happen after the quest was created.
Can I try a quest again after a rejection?
Not with the same wallet. Each wallet can claim a slot in a quest only once, even if it expired or was rejected.
What if the employer never reviews my work?
For manually reviewed quests and for gigs, the payment is released after 7 days without an answer. The operator does it automatically, and you can also click the release button yourself. Automatic quests are decided by the operator only; there is no time-based fallback for them yet (see Security and roles).
Why is my payout pending?
The swap could not run safely at that moment, for example because the stock market is closed and the price feed is stale, or the pool price is below the protected minimum. Your USDG stays in the escrow, the operator retries, and after 3 days you can switch the payout to another token or to USDG. See When a payout waits.
Is the amount shown in the picker what I receive?
It is an estimate at the current block. The final amount is set when the payout runs and is never below the protected minimum.
What happens if an employer rejects my gig?
It goes to a dispute. The work2own arbiter reads the brief, your delivery and the employer's reason, and splits the budget between you and the employer.
Employers
How much does it cost?
The reward or budget, plus a platform fee of 2% on top, paid when you fund. The fee is not refunded. Posting a gig is free until you hire.
How much can I deposit?
Up to 10,000 USDG of rewards per quest, or 10,000 USDG of budget per gig. The fee comes on top.
Can I cancel a quest?
Not before its deadline. After the deadline, unused rewards come back to you when the quest is closed. There is no way to top up, extend or edit a quest's on-chain terms.
Can I edit a quest's description?
No. The description can be published once and is then fixed.
What can automatic verification check?
That the worker's own wallet sent a successful transaction, on the right network, to the contract you named, optionally with a specific function and a minimum ETH value, between the quest's creation and the submission. It cannot check token amounts, events, holdings or anything off-chain. See Automatic verification.
